Rapid, Local , Australia Wide claim service
Transcorp staff process and pay all claims, so you get the Transcorp commitment to industry leading service and ready access to the decision makers. Our claims service is available Australia Wide through our national network of approved, Independent Loss Assessors, using the Insured’s choice* of repairer .
We don’t send you staff assessors who get their salary from us, raising the possibility that their main aim is cost cutting rather than quality repair work.
We don’t insist that repairers obtain parts for the repair of your vehicle from a particular source. Repairers are free to conduct the repair of Transcorp insured vehicles in the best & fastest manner possible, in consultation with our Independent Loss Assessors.
We don’t try to encourage our insured’s to use particular repairers with whom we may have come to certain prior agreements, by labeling them as Recommended Repairers. We allow our insured’s complete* freedom to choose the repairer they want.
*Subject to Transcorp only paying Recovery Costs equal to recovery to the nearest competent repairer, unless you call Trancorp Assist
Transcorp Assist
If the accident occurs outside business hours of 8.30 am to 4 pm, the driver (or other person) simply calls the freecall number 1300 247 277 (1300 24 7 ASSIST) and speaks to our national call centre. During business hours you call our claims department on 07 3503 3100.
From Anywhere To Anywhere
If the client calls 1300 24 7 ASSIST and Transcorp arranges the towing & recovery operation, we will transport the clients' vehicle From Anywhere To Anywhere in Australia, to the competent repairer of the clients' choice.
Automatic Agreed Value
Transcorp gives Automatic Agreed Value as standard cover, up to the vehicle’s Replacement value for the first 3 years, and 10% above its Market Value over 3 years old (except cars utes, etc to 2 Tonnes carrying capacity).
Fixed Agreed Value
To have Fixed Agreed Value, you must get a valuation for your Vehicle. Visit our Agreed Value page for more information.
Premiums Payable by the Month
If you wish, we can package all your premiums and let you pay them by the month.
Great Premiums for Good Drivers
Transcorp offers you the choice of insuring without Driver Declaration conditions, but we give a substantial discount, if you adopt our Driver Declaration option. By assisting you in the selection process for your drivers, we may be able to reduce your chances of an accident. Certainly our experience has shown us that we are able to offer much lower premiums to customers who choose this option.
Even if you take this option, you can still allow any correctly licenced driver you wish, to drive your truck. All we ask you to do is share the risk with us by paying a $10,000 excess if an Unapproved driver has an accident.
Also, if you forget to declare a driver and they have an accident, we do consider if we would have approved the driver, and, if yes, we give Retrspective Approval and waive the Unapproved Driver Excess.
As well as this, if we think the accident would have occurred regardless of who was driving, we waive the Unapproved Driver Excess anyway.
This very fair and flexible approach means you can make the premium savings from Driver Declarations with complete peace of mind. |

Automatic Australia Wide Cover on all vehicles
Transcorp offers substantial discounts for insured’s who travel within certain radii, but we still give you full cover even if the accident occurs outside the nominated radius, subject to an additional $3,000 excess for Rigid Trucks, $5,000 excess for all other Vehicles.
The excess can be waived for a small fee for individual trips outside the radius, advised to us in advance.
Our excess only applies if the accident actually occurs outside the radius, & the radius is measured ‘as the crow flies’. Some insurers decline to pay the claim altogether if you exceed their radius, and others take it one step further by sometimes actually refusing to pay the claim even if you were inside your radius at the time of an accident!!! How can that happen? These insurers have a policy which enables them to refuse to pay your claim, if they can prove you were merely embarking on a journey that would have taken you outside the radius for any part of the trip. This means you could crash in your own driveway, and still not be covered!!!!
Have you checked to see if your insurer has this twist to their wording?
Material Damage cover for Non Owned Trailers
Transcorp covers Non Owned Trailers under Section 1 of its policy. This means these trailers are covered for the same events as if the trailer was an Owned Trailer, Comprehensively Insured (excluding Loss of Use).
|
|
Some Insurers cover Non Owned Trailers under Section 2 of their policy, for Liability Only. This means if the Non Owned Trailer is stolen and the insurer feels the Tow Operator was not negligent, there is no cover, but the Tow Operator still has to pay the owner of the trailer for the loss. The same applies in any circumstance where the Non Owned Trailer is damaged or lost, but the Tow Operator is deemed not negligent. eg Storm Damage to the trailer, which may be deemed an act of God, struck in the rear by a Third Party etc.
|
Make sure you are getting the cover you think you are paying for – many insured’s are astounded to find out at claims time that they have no cover, even though they have taken out a Non Owned Trailer cover.
Of course if the client has used a broker to place the cover their next thought is sometimes, to sue their Broker for Professional Negligence for selling them an inadequate cover, when an adequate cover was readily available from Transcorp.
We give you back your unused premium
If your vehicle is a total loss, and we ascertain the Payout Figure is less than the Sum Insured, Transcorp refunds the premium you paid in this policy period, on the portion of the Sum Insured that you are not paid. Determining the true Market Value of your vehicle is a difficult thing, and we strive to be fair by using Licenced & Accredited Valuers, but at least you know Transcorp doesn’t add to the difficulty of the process by keeping premium for a cost it did not incur.
Liability Only cover on trailers
Many trailers are of little value and not worth insuring. However, you can be liable for Bodily Injury or Damage they cause while disconnected from the Prime Mover e.g it might roll away & hit someone or something.
Transcorp lets you protect yourself from this risk at minimal cost, with the option of Liability Only cover on trailers.
Under 25 year old drivers can be covered
Many under 25 drivers are very responsible drivers and we are happy to insure them, if their Driver Declaration shows they have been driving responsibly.
Bodily Injury Liability Cover
